Young Lives, Bright Futures
Lumin Care Homes
Our vision is to create a place that children and young people can call home, be happy, feel valued and find the safety and stability to thrive.
We are ambitious for our children, who are at the heart of everything that we do. We are constantly striving to find ways to send them on the pathways to be the best that they can be. We provide daily living experiences for children and young people that are meaningful, memorable and designed to meet their individual needs.
We believe in every child, believe that everyone is equally valuable and that everyone has the ability to achieve.
Who We Care For & How We Care For Them
We care for children aged 7 to 17 years, in mixed gender homes, staffed by expert support workers. We care for children who experience emotional, social or behavioural difficulties as well as children who experience poor mental health and/or additional needs, including autism, ADHD or learning difficulties.
In our care, every child receives a personally designed service, developed from thorough assessments and child centred planning.
Every child deserves their own space to thrive. A place they can belong and feel empowered to be their best self.
We are committed to helping create nurturing, supportive environments where children feel safe, listened to and encouraged to develop positively, with care that is consistent, reflective and centred on their individual needs.

Life at Orion House
Orion House is a three bedroom semi detached house situated in a residential area, with close access to the park, shops and local amenities.
Each young person has their own bedroom as well as access to the snug, kitchen diner and garden. Our small garden is well maintained for outdoor activites and relaxation and is home to our “Memory Trees”. When children or young people arrive at Orion House they are encouraged to plant their own Memory Plant which marks their time at Orion House and ensures a lasting memory of their stay with us.
Children and young people have access to a choice of toys, games, books and sensory equipment, alongside television, DVDs and access to music.
The local community has numerous clubs, societies and youth groups and children and young people are encouraged to participate in activities that interest them, building friendships within the community in which they are living.
